The salt balances the sweetness of the condensed milk and sugar, which is why it sits so well on plain vanilla ice cream or a dark chocolate brownie. How to Use Salted Caramel Sauce 

Squeeze it over ice cream, gelato, crêpes and waffles, or run it around a glass before a milkshake or a latte.
