Product Information

MSK UltraTex is an instant thickening starch that works in hot and cold liquids alike, so one pail covers sauces, purées and drinks.

Ultratex is a high-performance thickening starch and an extremely versatile product, practical enough for any kitchen.

What Is UltraTex Made From?

MSK make it from 100% modified maize starch (E1442), milled to a fine, creamy white powder. It has no taste and no colour, so a perfectly seasoned sauce can be brought to the texture you want without changing its flavour. None of the 14 major allergens appears on MSK's list.

How to Use UltraTex

Sprinkle it into the liquid a little at a time and whisk. It disperses quickly and evenly without lumping, and there is no need to heat it, so add more until the preparation reaches the thickness you are after. The same powder makes wafer-thin tuiles and smooth fluid gels.

Storage and Applications

Keep the lid tightly closed and store the pail somewhere dry, at room temperature and out of direct sunlight. Each batch carries its own best before date on the label.

Thickened fruit purées and coulis
Fluid gels for plated desserts
Wafer-thin tuiles
Cold sauces and dressings
