The cocoa butter is a fantastic option for those in need of a classic colour, with a rich hue to finish. Chocolates tend to show these colours in their best light, but we always encourage creativity as you never know what secret method you might find! 

How to prepare and apply coloured cocoa butter

Coloured cocoa butters arrive solid and need to be gently melted into their liquid form so they can be used. Heat the bottle in 10 second intervals in a microwave then shake, heat once again and repeat until the butter starts to reach its liquid state. It’s important not to leave the butter unattended as it is possible to burn cocoa butters, adding a burnt taste and rendering them unusable.

Once you’re all set, you can start adding some colour to your product! We’ve put a few ideas below to get the creative process started:

• Flick the butter into a chocolate mould for a ‘splash’ effect
• Place a stencil over a tempered chocolate and spray a pattern or design onto your creation
• For larger chocolates like Easter eggs, use multiple colours to create a colourful egg nest with a spray gun! 

Please note that this cocoa butter contains titanium dioxide E171, a white colour that is legal in the UK, but if you require an E171 free product, we do offer an E171 free range.
